Xiwen Huang is the recipient of the CPC Scholarship
Having lived life in both the eastern and western hemispheres, learning to adapt to unfamiliar cultures has shaped Xiwen into who she is today. While language hindered her greatly when Xiwen first immigrated to the United States from China at the age of eight, Roman numerals and operation symbols in the third-grade math classroom spoke in a tongue she understood. In the same way those familiar math symbols gave her renewed confidence as a learner, Xiwen hopes to engineer a future of innovation and improvement, and translate economic trends and mathematical expressions for a less privileged audience.
